Made In Germany

The newest addition to our ever-growing
product range is a line of fragile-looking, yet
unbreakable planters from Germany. First of all, to clear
the air somewhat, we call this item a planter, not a vase
because of the fact that besides the outer container (the
vase), the planter also includes an inner liner plus a
'sub-irrigation' system. It is this revolutionary
sub-irrigation system that makes watering a no-brainer
and bestows upon you green fingers literally
overnight.
Lets go through each of these 3
components of a Lechuza planter:
The Vase
The most visible part of the whole deal,
the vase has a chic, clean, designer look to it. In fact,
Lechuza is widely sought-after by professional designers
in Europe. One of its attractiveness is its simplicity.
The vase is also extremely lightweight, unbreakable and
is also UV-resistant, something most other vases are not.
Without UV-resistance, the strong colour will fade
outdoors under sunlight. Finally, this vase is also
frost-proof. Not a terribly important feature here,
unless you have the occasion inclination of putting the
vase in the freezer.
The Inner Liner
The inner liner separates the plant from
the vase. This allows for quick and easy change of the
vase. Larger planters also come with handles for lifting
up the plant.
The Sub-Irrigation System
The sub-irrigation system takes the
stress out of looking after your plants. You no longer
need to guess whether or when a plant needs re-watering.
Lechuza planters come with a water level indicator that
tells you exactly that. Upon watering, the internal
reservoir stores the water and provides a environment
that gives optimum moisture to the plant and over an
extended period of time. The internal reservoir only
needs to be refilled every 2 - 10 weeks, depending on
models. In short, you need not continously mind over your
plant. Much easier to make those travel plans. Only have
to worry who would babysit the dog!
